Another weekend!

What is this?! Well its a yummy cake that we had today at church! Please do find R's name on it! I was so moved to see the church full of families and kids (as a church should be) it was a Sunday when we celebrated all the children who have been christened/baptised into the church. It was a highly moving serive and it reaffirmed again the importance of our spiritual belonging and education too! Reuben was really really eyeing up the cake on the altar...and we got his one first!

I really love this pic! My son;s gentle handleing of the cake which is way to special. We waited for it through the service patiently and less patiently at times. He was so pleased to get in first! BUt this picture reminds me of the amazing anticipation we are living day by day!

HI! We have had another long week! It was strange having no Reuben during the day ...he was at nursery full time and that was somewhat strange after the 2 weeks holiday. He has been taking to it okish considering I try and stay with him a bit in the mornings and ensuring he does not feel abandoned and that it is his play time and school time. He seems to find departing a bit upsetting so its hard work but I am happy to see that when I show up to pick him up he is happy and content. He is very sweet...has started talking loads and is unbelievably grown up. He can watch and entire DVD of Jungle Book, 101 Dalmations, Aladin and such and we are just amazed that he actually gets the plots and really really laughs and enjoys them. So we take mornings nice and easy and slow....then go to nursery by 9ish and then mummy sorts things out and plans ahead and such. While daddy finally manages to look for work and do the required paperworks and by 4:30-5:00 I am at nursery to pick R up. We have dinner together then we watch something on TV (he loves 64 zoo lane) and slowly get ready for bath time. He loves his bath times especially when mummy gets in too. We then dry and dress in the PJs and watch a little story or read or just go to bed. He is good as he is normally in bed by 8pm and he is sometimes even asleep by 8pm. I am pleased he is back into a routine and he is enjoying his time with us. Its special that daddy is at home and I love that too. Especially when I feel unwell its so reassuring to have daddy here. I wish we would live in a world where we could have both things jobs and home life and family life. IN a world where kids can interract more with dads. Tonight Reuben and I went to bed as usual after a lot of what looked like trying to settle and find the right position in bed (Reuben that is) my son started shouting outloud....DAAAAADY then got up and went downstairs and got his daddy. He then settled within 10 mins. It made me think I could have been really cruel and not let him down and commanded him to sleep and get on with it....but I was honestly curious what he was up to. I was pleased he did not go to play or to pick up some toy he wanted what he should have his daddy. He wanted the happy three....us all together in bed. I won;t ever deny him this....as who knows how long he can enjoy having both of us and how long will he want us still. From what I remember years go quickly....and soon he will be a teenager and will possibly not want to do anything with us...but for now...I love cuddleing up with him and knowing that he/us are at ease.
Sweet dreams my sweet boy! Another week comes around the corner....anticipating it and hoping there will be some good comming our way again!
