30th Sept 2007

Another great day with Granny! This picture has been taken in the church garden after the morning service at which Reuben has been really good. This is his new outfit we love it! Mum managed to sleep loads last night and also today during the day as granny volunteered herself to look after the little one. Daddy had him from 5am-6:30am watching the grand prix and then granny had him from 6:30ish til 9ish when we started getting ready for church. Mummy gave him a bath tonight and played with him after which he fell asleep on mummy;s shoulder! It felt lovely!

11 weeks old Reuben

Hello

Reuben has been really good except today. Its been raining all day and poor Reuben and granny were stuck at home...mummy as well except she got out to buy a few things.
He has been a real sweetheart...he smiles loads, chatters loads and enjoys company. He is particularly good at noticing if he is left alone in the room even for 2 seconds. We are getting excited at going home to Romania on the 17th October.

MOre later but for the time being some pics to see his face getting rounder and fuller! He must be putting on weight we will see on tuesday when he is weighed!

Granny is back!

Hello

Reuben has had a few difficult days! Mummy has had a few difficult days and nights too resulting in her feeling ill, shaky and tired. Mummy and daddy decided to call for help (in form of mama(granny) from Romania) so granny arrived on Friday night after the ticket being bought on Friday morning. It was so good mum already felt better less tearfull and more able to sleep and relax.

Reuben has spent Friday with mama and Daddy while mummy was in college. Then today Sunday we all stayed home and enjoyed a relaxed day with two short walks. R has already behaved better today but still pretty demanding...still we were able to take it in turns. Mummy even had a little nap in the afternoon.

R is having his jabs tomorrow and I am freaked out already! Today was the first cold day and Reuben wore his orange nice outfit still his hands and feet got very cold so I guess we will need to start wearing warmer clothes!

15th September 2007

Hello

Reuben has had another bad day....Started really well as he slept from 8pm last night til 9:00 this morning with only wakes for feed! IT was so good but I was apprehensive about today! He had a terrible colic around 1pm and then again around 8 in the evening just after his bath....
We are monitoring weather he has reflux or not....we hope that whatever it is it will pass and make him feel better soon.
These pictures were taken today with mummy and daddy!

Isn;t he just so gorgeous?!

8 weeks old

Hello

ITs been a difficult week already! Daddy barely had slept more than 6 hours a night as R was restless and needing to be taken out for car rides. Mummy is knackred and feels exhasuted as all day she is carrying R as well as trying to get things done one handedly and when R asleep. Today R had no rest, he had a slight fever and nothing was consoling him. Mummy took him for a walk but that did not help then later during the day he fel asleep quite a few times and for longer periods but only on mummy;s chest. Mummy is exhasuted and negatve thoughts have started to rise such as that she is not very good mummy etc. We were invited to a mums and babies afternoon but we did not make it as R was more interested in screaming his and mummy;s head of then sleeping with mummy literally attached to her. As soon as mummy moved (needed the loo) he would cry so mummy was unable to move anywhere. He had 1 hour of happiness in the afternoon...followed by the horrid colic pains. Mummy gave him some paracetamol and he seemed to settle but by the evening he was again sad and upset! THe picture was taken while he was playing on the changing mat...why do kids get so happy when on changing mats?! I took the photo on the phone thats why the quality not the best!

After such a difficult day we are ready to fall into bed and hopefully have a good night sleep...who knows?!

6th sept 2007 DADDY DAY

Hello

Today has been a good day! Daddy was home to allow mum to do coursework and some paperwork before she returns to college on Monday. Daddy and R has left around 1pm and mum got into sorting out some paperwork but it was hard not having R around. feelings of guilt and also being left out from the fun!! Still, it was nice to have some quite and peace. R was really missed but mummy welcomed the break. They came back after 4pm and then went out again after 5pm so R had much fresh air today. They came back and then went to check out a hotel for granny and grandad. When they came back R was asleep but woken up by hunger so we ate, bathed and then played before he fell asleep again. So we are hoping for another good night and hopefully a good day tomorrow....

Enjoy the pictures!

5th September 2007 Cameron and Reuben day

Hello

Reuben has had a few difficult days this week! It is mainly disturbed nights where he keeps waking up and battleing with the air but also during the day he seems to cry more! I feel so sad for him....5 more weeks they say and he will be over the terrible colics and hopefully he will have established a routine. I feel so sad for him as he is so small and his eyes are so sad when he is in pain. He has recently been bought a lovely mobile by daddy...he loves this new toy and he gurgles and talks to it kicks and smiles when its on...its LOVELY TO WATCH. Today Cameron his friend visited with mummy Natalie and we had a nice time chatting and playing and crying together too.

Tomorrow daddy is at home so we are hoping for some bonding while mummy does college work and hopefully make a final decission whether she will do the studying or not....

We are hoping for some better days!

2nd September 2007

Hello! Reuben has been upand down recently! He had couple of good days and then a few really bad colicy days! I keep thinking what might make it worse or better but I guess there is nothing different so far! IT feels very draining to watch him in pain and crying....and it feels so good when he smiles when he chatters and makes those lovley eye contacts. He speaks with his eyes and I just melt. I started to feel very tired, exhausted and worry about the next few weeks. I am worried as in 8 days my course is suppose to start....enrolling would mean huge committment...and rings with itself huge fiancial committment too. I worry that Reuben might find it difficult not seeing me for nearly two afternoons but equally I worry that whoever takes him might not do things the way I do them and will confuse him even more. Also I am worried as he is still small...I wish I had more time to decide what I do. I guess my tiredness is taking the better of me as I started having nightmares often wake thinking R has been smuthered or taken away....scary!

I also feel more and more the loss of my family people that I could just pop into for a chat and a cuppa....I guess at home it would be easier as someone would pop in take R for a bit or even just walking him would help. But I decided to be strong try and be glad for what we have here and now. God has given us R as a gift and he is ok the way he is. Things will pass they always do....!

For what is worth I never felt so close to God! I guess when we become weak we are strong in a wierd way (as my friend NOleen told me on Sunday) when we are vulnerable we start needing God more then ever. I do not mean to say God allows us to be weak to need him because I am convinced he wants whats best for us...just as I want whats best for R! If I can be so good to my son, if my heart and soul melts when I see him how much more can God;s heart melt when he sees us when he sees the potential in us!

Ok...before this turns into a NOVEL....he my lovely son is deep asleep...I am hoping for a bath...will keep you up to date ....tomorrow he is 7 weeks old.
