NEW YEAR!

After the sheer dissapointment of NO WHITE Christmas....finally we had snow last weekend. We made the most of it....and enjoyed a lot of sledging at our fav place Boley Hill the place between the Castle and the Cathedral. The boys couldnt get enough so they spent all the time they had doing what kids should really do building snow men and sledging and snowball fighting! I also truley loved getting in the spirit....!
Some very very special friends have come to play too: Noah, Jack and Nicholas.  In fact Reuben would like for his 6th bday a nice sleepover with these friends:) I am delighted he is concerned about daddy and mummy too so he is suggesting I bring my girlfriends and daddy brings his friends around for the same night as a big sleepover fun...:)) I see how thats not really gona happen but so kind he did not want us to miss out on the fun.
Reuben has been showing a lot of creativity lately. Don;t know what it is but he seems all of a sudden to be full of great ideas. LIke this one:) On Sunday afternoon he decided his cuddly toys needed some new cloths so he started making things. Out of the left over bunting I had he created a hat for Blue Teddy (this little chap has lived about 4 years nacked:)) and has travelled like that around EE) and his puppies too.....he was so enthusiastic it was a sheer joy watching him. And he even made a pair of trousers....
Traforaj! Coping Saw-  from Romania! - I grew up using one of these (yes I know I am a girl) my dad insited we all knew how to create things and he made sure we did know how to cut, hammer and saw things. I hope we can make a few things....yay!
I have some fabulous Godparents to my children, Jim and Hester are wonderful to my children and whenever we visit we get tons of lego, playmobil, a real dog and trampoline all exclusivley available for play....:) however this time Reuben got his eye on the drum kit which is Eddie's who is now 15?!:) I have to say I am delighted both of my boys seem to be musical and interested in music. R especially like beat music:)
Now this little fella is called HOTDOG:) on a very mad day when we took a trip to Toys R Us he just appeared in the store and took our breaths away:) boys had been crying for ages for a puppy and even though was massivley expensive I gave in thinking a gift for both of them that will be loved and shared etc will really work.Well it did and it didnt and it did again. R is very happy to take him out for walks....he is lovley little puppy and whats important has an OFF button too:)

Overall nothing much happened around here. We had the best Christmas Ever just us...enjoying being at home and seeing local friends. Attended a few lovley services at church and managed some few playdates. I was as relaxed as if I was on holiday and the kids really did not seem to complain. Now back in full swings of things such as school and chores and work and I am delighted that Reuben is progressing in so many ways. We had overcome a few more things such as sleeping the night, going to bed alone and one of the most imp ones he no longer has a night time nappy. I have to say....I am extreamly proud of him...as I was quite relaxed and happy for him to keep on the nightime nappy. He has been nagging me for ages that he wants the nappy off but I guess I was a little but naughty as I couldnt imagine changing the bed at night should there be accidents. Well, I have to say so far so good....and its been a while. Perhaps I should have let him get rid of the nappy ages ago would have saved much more money.
At School reuben has a lot of interesting progresses, he seem to be good at Maths and his English is not bad either. I think given the chance he would choose always numbers over letters but he is very active and interested in how things work....so I guess you cant be great at everything.
He has been tested fpr MD (Muscular Dystrophy) and although his tests have not been totally confirmed yet one interpretation of these by a consultant in genetics (specialist) suggests he does not have the gene that is responsible for this particular condition. I told Reuben that its difficult to tell but it looks like doctors suggest he has not got what daddy has and his muscles will be strong ....he paused and thought then told me: "I want to be like my daddy, with a sad voice" - I have to say that moment I really did understand just that little bit more about love....geniuine love. Reuben has been through a lot in his 5 years of life. I really don;t know what he has to face in his life but I hope and pray his life will be always so geniuine and honest, so playfull and happy, so innocent and courageous as its been so far.
I am so grateful for Reuben and most evenings when we look back on how the day went I am so so so thankful to God for allowing me to be my boy's mum and friend. I am delighted that my husband also feels so proud and in love with us all. He is our rock and the best daddy there is on this planet. We are indeed very very blessed.
